At 9:40pm on Wed 5/17/17, Mohegan FD was dispatched to the Taconic State Pkwy northbound just south of Exit 20 (Rt 6) for a reported motor vehicle fire. Upon arrival, units found a heavily involved car fire on the right shoulder of the TSP northbound at mile marker 19.8. One 1 3/4" hoseline was stretched from Engine 258 and the main body of fire was knocked down quickly. Members then overhauled the vehicle to ensure full extinguishment. All units cleared by 10:45pm, and the scene was turned over to the New York State Police.
