On Monday 10/30/17 at approximately 1:30pm, Mohegan FD's FAS-Team was requested to respond to a commercial structure fire in the Heritage Hills Condos in Somers. Somers FD, along with Croton Falls FD, Yorktown FD, and Bedford Hills FD FAS-Team were on scene operating at this fire. Due to the fire spread, Bedford Hills FD's FAS-Team was put to work to assist in operations and Mohegan FD's was dispatched as the FAS-Team. The fire, which originated from a portable generator running on the exterior due to a power outage, quickly extended to the exterior of the building and into the cockloft. Mohegan FD Car 2261 and Engine 257/FAS-Team arrived and stood by until the fire was extinguished. Mohegan FD returned approximately 1 hour after dispatch. Photos are courtesy of Chief Keesler. Earlier in the morning at 8:10am, Mohegan FD Car 2265 and Engine 257/FAS-Team responded to a structure fire on Lake Shore Dr in Putnam Valley (Putnam County). Putnam Valley FD was on scene with a structure fire and Mohegan FD assisted on scene for approximately 1 hour.
