On Friday evening 2/2/18 at approximately 6:25pm, Mohegan FD, Mohegan EMS, Yorktown Paramedics, and Yorktown PD were dispatched to East Main St (Rt. 6) in the area of Mohegan Lake Motors for a reported person's leg pinned under a vehicle. Upon arrival of units, the incident was found to be in Lakeland St just in from Rt. 6 with the patient found partially pinned under the driver side front tire. The patient was in a unique position of being partially on the ground and also partially still inside the vehicle. Members immediately began to set up the rescue airbags to lift the vehicle off the person, while Mohegan EMS began treating the patient. Members first cribbed the vehicle with wood cribbing to stabilize it and then proceeded to set up the rescue airbags with equipment from both Engine 252 and Engine 256. Members also stoodby with Hurst extrication tools, in case the driver's front door needed to be removed for better patient access/removal. The vehicle was lifted quickly and the person was quickly extricated. The patient was transported by Mohegan EMS 69B1 with Yorktown Paramedic 34M1 to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Members stoodby with scene lighting for Yorktown PDand went back into service by 7:15pm.
