This afternoon Monday 4/6/20 at approximately 12pm, Mohegan FD (volunteer and career) was dispatched to Lyncrest Rd in Cortlandt for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active brush fire approximately 50ft x 50ft. The fire was quickly extinguished utilizing a 1 3/4” hoseline from Engine 254. We remind everyone that the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14th. Units on scene were Car 2269, Engine 254, and Rescue 32.
