Today Saturday 9/28/24, Mohegan FD participated at a Touch a Truck community outreach event from 10am-3pm located at the Jefferson Valley Mall on Lee Blvd in Yorktown. The event was sponsored by the mall in conjunction with State Farm Insurance- Matt Spector and the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce. At the event, children and adults were able to tour and sit inside Car 2263, Utility 69, and Engine 255. Our members also answered many questions about our apparatus, turnout gear, and equipment on display. Our members also distributed fire safety pamphlets and had membership applications on hand as part of our ongoing recruitment drive. It was a great day to interact with our community and we were very happy to see the large turnout. On hand with Mohegan FD were our partners from Mohegan EMS. Please look for us in the community throughout October and remember that we are always looking for individuals to join our ranks!
