First Due Fire

On Tues night 11/12/24 at 11:55pm, Mohegan FD was dispatched to Waterbury Pkwy in Cortlandt for reported smoke in the house. Upon arrival of units a few minutes after dispatch, smoke and heavy fire was visible. The 10-75 was struck (working structure fire assignment). Mohegan Firefighters stretched multiple hose lines and through an aggressive interior attack, the fire was knocked down quickly. Firefighters also ventilated the roof. The residence did sustain significant fire, smoke, and water damage. Firefighters checked for further extension and none was found. Mohegan FD was assisted on scene by Putnam Valley FD, Continental Village FD, Mohegan EMS, Peekskill EMS, Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Battalion 17, and Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services Battalion 10 and Cause and Origin Team. The Town of Cortlandt Code Enforcement, Con Edison Electric, and American Red Criss also assisted. The Peekskill FD and Montrose FD stood by and covered at Mohegan FD Station 1. Mohegan FD cleared the scene by 4am.
