On Wednesday 1/26/22, at approximately 12:30am, Mohegan FD was dispatched to a structure fire on Sherman Ct in the Mohegan Lake section of Yorktown. While enroute, units were advised that there were multiple calls to 911 about the fire. Within a few minutes, first arriving units encountered a heavily involved structure fire with possible occupants trapped. Numerous hoselines were stretched and the aerial of Ladder 35 was set up as an additional water master stream. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within an hour and firefighters remained on scene until 5am performing extensive overhaul ensuring the fire was fully extinguished. Assisting on scene were Yorktown FD FAS-Team, Mahopac Falls FD, Buchanan FD, Mohegan/Empress EMS, Peekskill EMS, Town of Yorktown (Water Dept, Building Dept, Highway Dept), and Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services (Battalion 17, Cause and Origin Team).
