On Monday 5/9/22, Mohegan FD (volunteer and career) began the 12 hour New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services training course “Basic Wildland Fire Suppression” which is taught by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers. This certification course was held at LMFD Station #3 (Furnace Woods Station) provides training on brush fires and wildland fires. This 2 part course was first classroom lecture and then on Saturday 5/14/22, Mohegan FD (volunteer and career) completed the course with a written examination and hands on training. We thank the NYS Forest Rangers for the knowledge and training they offered us!
